You can build features in isolation, but not trust. That belief sits at the core of everything we do at PanelAlpha. Building with intention means listening closely – in our case, to those whose daily work and passion are centered around WordPress. And at this year’s edition of WordCamp Europe, we had that unique chance to get as close to that reality as possible. This special article is our way of reliving the ideas, the experiences, and the unexpected energy that shaped our time in Basel.

Contributor Day

WordCamp kicked off with a full day devoted to giving back to the WordPress project. And the effort wasn’t symbolic. Whether you were fixing bugs, translating strings, reviewing documentation, helping new contributors, or joining strategic discussions, it was a space where everyone could leave a real, meaningful mark on WordPress.

We felt lucky to contribute in ways that matched our strengths: Damian Wilusz (QA & Technical Support) joined the Testing team, Joanna Byjoś (Marketing Leader) supported the Marketing group, and Konrad Keck (CEO) shared his wealth of experience with the Hosting table. The room buzzed with quiet focus and mutual encouragement. It reminded us why WordPress lives not just in code, but also in people, showing up and making something bigger together.

Sponsors Expo

For two full days, we had the joy of meeting WordPressers from all over the world at the PanelAlpha booth. We talked about automation, onboarding, scaling pains, edge cases, and ideas still waiting to be formed. Some conversations lasted five minutes, others stretched over multiple visits. Every single one meant more than time could measure.

We came home with pages of notes and even more inspiration at heart. There’s no better way to shape a product than by listening to people who work around it, break it, rebuild it, and use it in ways we hadn’t even imagined.

And yes, we had plenty of fun too! Despite a few logistic hiccups (we’re looking at you, customs!), we managed to pull off daily raffles with great prizes and even greater energy. Because most of the times, mixing business with a bit of joy is how stronger client relationships are built.

WordCamp After Dark

Whether it was a football stadium, a floating bar on the Rhine, or just a casual lunch out, we left each evening with a deeper sense of connection and even more appetite for turning your ideas into the next chapter of PanelAlpha. We could share more… but the photos do it better. 🙂

Side events, and evening meetups gave us a whole different view of the community, and it only made us love it more. Every gathering was proof of how welcoming, warm, and wildly creative WordCamp attendees are.

A Walk Through Basel

Thanks to a late flight, we had a full day to explore Basel before heading home. It allowed us some extra time to reflect, not just on the action-packed days behind us, but on how important it is to step away from the screen sometimes.

The best conversations often happen when you’re walking, not typing. Between river views, narrow streets, and unexpected detours, we found space to share thoughts, laugh, and dream up ideas that we might have missed back at our desks.

Until Next Time

Being part of WordCamp was more than worth the effort: the travel plans, the preparation, the long days, and the even longer nights. It gave us all kinds of feedback, clear direction, and new motivation to keep pushing PanelAlpha forward in a way that we can be proud of.

WordCamp Europe 2026And now, the special news for the grand finale! WCEU 2026 is coming to our beautiful corner of the world: Cracow in Poland! We’re already thinking (and yes, scheming a little) about how to make next year’s experience just as epic.

See you there!
