# Standard Onboarding
The "Standard Onboarding" is one of the three currently available onboarding methods, alongside Quick onboarding and Super Quick onboarding. This method provides users with full control over the creation of instances.
The selection of the "Standard Onboarding" method is highly recommended for advanced users. Customers who purchase a service with this onboarding method selected are given greater control over their website creation. This method's configuration, at the instance installation level, is customized to gather additional website details with just a few extra steps, compared to the Quick onboarding method.
# Configuration
Within PanelAlpha, "plans" are set up to create service options for customers, offering different features, resources and limits. To create a plan, navigate to the admin panel: Configuration → Plans and press Add button. The second step of plan configuration is dedicated to instance onboarding, that is a method of installation.
Below are described the configuration details that allow to craft an almost ready to install instance for your customers:
- Ask For Theme - select if you want to get the choice which theme will be installed, otherwise the default theme will be used.
- Select the subdomain format to automatically generate:
- Language
- Database name
- Database prefix
- Admin username
- Admin email
- Admin password
# Workflow
Now that a plan is ready, let us show you how it is used in practice.
- The client aims to create a new instance. To do so, they log into the client area and navigate to "Add New Instance" → "Create New WordPress Instance" → "Continue."
- They then select a theme of their preference (if the "Ask for theme" option has been enabled in the plan configuration, otherwise a default theme will be used).
- Next, the client selects a product (in our case, "Standard" for Standard Onboarding illustration).
- The client provides any required information on the website that is about to be created. Such as:
- Instance name
- Domain name
- Any information on the WordPress version for new installations
- Select the instance if the installation is supposed to be cloned from an existing one
- Any additional fields in Advanced Configuration if these have been specified by the admin in the Plan configuration.
The domain can be easily changed later on after the site is installed by using the "Change Domain" button in the instance details.
- The client need to now patiently wait until the site installation is successfully completed. This process might take a while. Go back to their dashboard to check the progress of the installation.
